Baker Hughes Co Beats Profit Estimates in Q3 Driven by International Demand

U.S. oilfield technology firm Baker Hughes Co exceeded profit expectations in the third quarter, mainly due to strong demand for its services and equipment in international markets. The company’s success can be attributed to the surge in commodity prices last year, prompting energy firms to invest in production enhancement and exploration. One of the major contributors was Baker Hughes, which provides services like drilling, well construction, and completion. In addition, the company secured contracts from multiple liquefied natural gas projects, as energy companies rush to construct new facilities for LNG production. Baker Hughes reported a 19% rise in international revenue from its oilfield services and equipment segment, amounting to $2.89 billion in the quarter ended on September 30. Adjusted net income per share stood at 42 cents, surpassing analysts’ predicted 40 cents.
