Ford Motor to Increase Tesla Superchargers in its Charging Network

Ford Motor announced on Monday that it plans to add more of Tesla’s Superchargers to its electric-vehicle charging network, surpassing its previous estimate. Ford will now include over 15,000 of Tesla’s Superchargers in its network, up from the initial projection of 12,000 chargers. Additionally, Ford plans to expand its BlueOval Charge Network in North America by 25% to over 106,000 chargers. This move aims to address a key challenge for EV owners, providing them with increased access to charging stations. Ford will also collaborate with three new charging providers, adding more than 10,000 new chargers to the network, including over 550 new DC fast chargers. The fast chargers will be available to Ford EV customers via an adapter starting from next spring. This development builds on Ford’s previous agreement with Tesla to allow EV owners to utilize Tesla’s Superchargers in the United States by early 2024.
