German technology companies are facing delays in getting their exports to China through customs. This comes after the German government implemented a strategy to reduce economic dependence on demand from China. Suess MicroTec, a chip-making kit supplier, has cut its sales forecasts for the second time in three months due to tightened controls on exports to China. Deliveries worth €23.5 million are currently stuck at customs. German customs and the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) have not commented on the issue. The delay in processing export requests is affecting various industries, and companies are working to obtain the necessary export certificates. Some high-tech companies with Chinese customers have not been affected. However, the German chamber of commerce warns that the political environment is hindering exports to China.
