FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried testified in his fraud trial, stating that while many individuals were harmed when the cryptocurrency exchange collapsed, he did not commit fraud or steal billions of dollars. Bankman-Fried acknowledged making mistakes as an entrepreneur and not implementing a dedicated risk-management team. He emphasized that his intention was never to steal customers’ money. Prosecutors have accused Bankman-Fried of using customer funds for personal purposes, making speculative investments, and donating to political campaigns. Bankman-Fried has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
