Russian Oct 26 (Reuters) – FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried is facing trial charges of taking billions in customer funds. Jurors saw screenshots of Bankman-Fried’s posts on the messaging platform X, where he assured users that the cryptocurrency exchange was safe. However, former FTX chief technology officer Gary Wang testified that FTX did not have the assets to cover withdrawals, and that Bankman-Fried’s posts were misleading. Prosecutors allege that Bankman-Fried misled FTX customers before the exchange filed for bankruptcy in November 2022.
