Amazon.com’s cloud services unit has clarified that it has not stopped any orders for Nvidia’s most advanced chip, Grace Hopper, but is instead opting for the newer Blackwell chips for an upcoming supercomputer project with Nvidia. This decision was made in collaboration with Nvidia for the Project Ceiba supercomputer. The transition from Hopper to Blackwell chips was announced in March by both companies. Amazon Web Services continues to offer services based on Nvidia’s Hopper chips, particularly for training artificial intelligence systems. The Financial Times corrected its earlier report, stating that Amazon’s chip orders had not yet been placed. The collaboration between Amazon and Nvidia continues to drive innovation in the cloud computing industry.
